Gamweek one in the UEFA Europa Conference League will get underway, with Lille taking on Olimpija Ljubljana on Wednesday evening. Group A also includes KI and Slovan Bratislava. The hosts qualified for the competition by beating Rijeka 3-2 in the playoff qualifiers. They come into this match off the back of a 2-2 draw to Rennes last week. That result extended their recent record to three games unbeaten in all competitions. The hosts are currently in fifth place in Ligue 1 after five matches with eight points, three behind Monaco, who currently lead the standings. Over their last six matches, Lille have won three, drawn two, and lost one. However, they have won all three home games this season and are on an eleven-match winning streak at Stade Pierre-Mauroy. The hosts have not lost at home in their last 25 games, dating back to September last year. They are strong favourites in this match. 

Meanwhile, PRVA Liga champions Olimpija were involved in Champions League qualification this season. In that competition, they were beaten 4-0 in the third qualifying round by Galatasaray. In Europa League qualifying, The Green and Whites lost to Qarabag 3-1 on aggregate in the playoffs and, as a result, were forced to drop to this competition. The Slovenian outfit secured a 2-1 win over Maribor last weekend, which also saw their record improve to three matches unbeaten. However, over their last six matches, they did suffer two losses while winning three and drawing one. In league terms, the visitors are currently in second place, two behind Celje at the top of the 1. SNL standings.
