Lille vs Celtic Prediction & Betting Tips - Europa League

The Stade Pierre-Mauroy is the venue for Lille to lock horns with Celtic in the Europa League on Thursday night. The French side are top of Group H after beating Sparta Prague 4-1 in the Czech Republic last week. Celtic are third in the group after losing their opener 3-1 at home to AC Milan. It was one result in a rotten run of form for the Scottish side who come into this game on a streak of three games without a win. One thing that Neil Lennon can take encouragement from is Celtic's away form in this competition. They are unbeaten in six of their last seven European away matches, picking up impressive results like a 2-1 win at Lazio. That run also includes a 1-1 draw away to Rennes, their last away match in France. 

However, their away fortunes may come to an end against a Lille team unbeaten in their previous nine matches. They are the only unbeaten side left in Ligue 1 and are only behind league leaders PSG on goal difference after eight games. At home, Lille are undefeated in seven games (six of which were wins) in all competitions, a run that extends back to last season. Coached by Christophe Galtier, they look capable of achieving great things this season. Their key players include Jonathan Bamba, who has scored three goals and created four more in Ligue 1, and Turkish veteran Burak Yilmaz, who has four goals in this Ligue 1 campaign. Neither player got on the scoresheet in their last European win, a younger Turkish forward named Yusuf Yazici getting a hat-trick. We think Lille, who have kept a clean sheet in their last three home matches, will win this game.
