Gameweek 21 in Ligue 1 will see Lens playing host to Strasbourg on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently in sixth place in the league standings, while the visitors are tenth. After failing to win any of their first five matches this season, Lens looked as though they were going to struggle to qualify for Europe this term. However, after securing their first victory of the campaign against Toulouse at the end of September, they have been steadily making their way up the table. The Blood and Gold claimed a 1-0 win over Nantes last weekend, which took them to 32 points, three below Monaco, who are in the fifth and final European spot. Over their last 15 league games, Lens have lost only twice, and those defeats were against league leaders PSG and second-placed Nice. At home, the hosts have taken 17 points from a possible 27 and have won four of their last five. Lens won the reverse fixture 1-0 back in September and are the favourites heading into this one. 

Meanwhile, Strasbourg will come into this match in good spirits after booking their spot in the quarter-final of the Coupe de France, beating Le Havre 3-1 in midweek. In league terms, the Blue-and-Whites lost their last match 2-1 to PSG, snapping up a six-match unbeaten run including three draws and three wins. They are now on 25 points after 20 matches, nine points clear of relegation and three points behind breaking into the top half of the table. In away games, the visitors are unbeaten in their last four (W1 D3 L0) and have taken ten points in as many matches on the road to date. However, they have not beaten this opponent in their last three attempts (W0 D1 L2) and have been outscored 5-3 during that time.
