With only two points and one spot separating Lens and Monaco, this Ligue 1 fixture at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Saturday could prove to be a tight battle for points. Lens are 3rd with 63 points while Monaco are right behind in 4th with 61 points. With Marseille in second spot and only one point above Lens, there are so many permutations and combinations that could happen on this matchday. Lens will hope that it works to their advantage as they look to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to league leaders Paris Saint-Germain last time around. That defeat halted their seven-match unbeaten run in the league, winning five and drawing two. Monaco are coming off a 3-1 win over Lorient making it three wins and a draw in their last four matches. Unlike their hosts, it is their attack that’s leading the show for Monaco with their 66 goals only bettered by 73 from Paris Saint-Germain. The visitors are outsiders for a top-three finish, which is the last position for Champions League qualification, so both teams will be aiming for that. They have been in fine scoring form away from home, netting at least two goals in 11 of their last 12 away league matches. Despite that, Monaco have won only five of their last ten away Ligue 1 matches, so there could be a hint of worry as to the final result being a win in their bucket.
