This weekend in Ligue 1, we will see Lens take on Olympique Marseille at Stade Bollaert-Delelis in what could be a decisive match in the race for automatic Champions League qualification. The hosts currently sit in third place in Ligue 1, with 69 points after 33 matches, just a single point behind their opponents in second, and eight points ahead of Monaco in fourth place. Lens managed a 1-0 win over Toulouse in their last match, which extended their solid recent record to five wins and one loss in their last six matches, with their only loss in that time coming to PSG last month. Lens have been very good at home this season, winning 14 of their 16 matches to date while drawing once and losing just once. The hosts come into this match on a five-match unbeaten streak in home matches. Lens won the reverse fixture 1-0 last October, and another win here would see them leapfrog their opponents into that coveted second automatic qualification spot with four games to go.

Their away record is also impressive, winning 12, drawing two, and losing just one of their 15 matches on the road this term. Marseille will be looking to extend their 11-match unbeaten away record with another positive result in this one. It should be an electric atmosphere and the visitors will know that they are up against it. They would no doubt be the happier of the sides if they could come away with a share of the spoils in this crucial fixture.
