Lens vs Auxerre Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Second placed Lens can go to within three points of leaders PSG. They host Auxerre who are struggling to avoid relegation and are 18th in Ligue 1. Lens are a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde team and it's their home record that is putting the pressure on PSG. They have a 100% home league record with nine wins out of nine but have only won three out of nine on the road. It's a case of winning at home and mostly drawing away with five out of nine on the road ending level. That's put them in second place but it's a struggle to keep in touch with PSG even though they recently beat them, Last week saw Lens only draw 2-2 at Strasbourg (who have only won one league game this season and are in the relegation zone), leading and trailing in the match with all four goals scored in the first 33 minutes of the game. Lens are unbeaten in their last 14 home league games and not lost in Ligue 1 in eight matches since losing at Lille in October.

Auxerre are two points from safety but come into this game having lost their last four Ligue 1 fixtures. Their most recent league match was a disaster for them as they lost 5-0 at home to Toulouse. They have conceded 14 goals in their last four league games. There was some success in the French Cup but even then they needed penalties to get past Dunkerque. Only three of their Lugue 1 games have been won this season, the last being at home to AC Ajaccio who are currently 16th and that was at the end of October. Away form has seen Auxerre earn just four points from nine league games and that's the worst record in Ligue 1 this season. Only one point has been earned from seven away league games since that one win at Montpellier in August. This could be a long afternoon for them in Lens.
