Leipzig are second in this Europa League group, level on points with Celtic and three behind group leaders Red Bull.  They face Celtic home and away in their next two group games and whoever comes out on top wlll have a great chance of reaching the knock-out stages. The German side are currently fifth in the Bundesliga, five points off the leaders Borussia Dortmund. Their Europa League campaign began with a 3-2 home loss to Red Bull. They went 2-0 down inside 22 minutes, got it back to 2-2 but then conceded an 89th minute goal. They bounced back with a comfortable 3-1 win away to the team bottom of this group, Rosenborg. Leipzig are unbeaten in their last six league/cup games since that loss to Red Bull and have just one loss in their last nine home matches. Before the loss to Red Bull they had gone five Europa League home games unbeaten.

Celtic began this group with a 1-0 home win over Rosenborg,scoring with just three minutes to go. They took a second-minute lead in Salzburg but eventually lost to Red Bull 3-1. Celtic are currently second in the Scottish Premiership, three points behind surprise leaders Hearts. They have won four of their last five matches but only won one of their last three away games both at St Johnstone who have lost four of their last five games. Away form in Europe has seen just one win in the last seven and in the Europa League Celtic have gone 13 without a win and just one victory in the last 21. Leipzig can be backed to get an important home win in this match.
