Leicester City have the chance to keep their automatic promotion hopes alive when they host West Bromwich Albion on Saturday. This Championship game features two sides in the promotion equation, Leicester City second and West Bromwich Albion fifth. For Leicester, the recent weeks have been tough. The side once with a healthy lead now sits second on 88 points, one behind Ipswich Town. The solace for Leicester is that they have a game in hand while all the top-three teams have been struggling. Playing first on the weekend, Leicester have the chance to go back on top, to, most importantly, cling on to an automatic promotion slot. On Friday they suffered their 10th defeat in the Championship this season, falling 1-0 to struggling Plymouth. Their second straight loss, and third defeat in five league matches highlights just how low the Foxes have dropped. Across their last 12 matches, Leicester have actually managed just three wins inside 90 minutes. Of particular concern for Leicester will be their defending. The team has managed just one clean sheet in the last 10 league matches.

Late goals settled the reverse fixture in December as West Brom suffered a 2-1 defeat at home. Coming here, revenge will be up their sleeves but most importantly three points for their top-six quest. Like their hosts, West Brom haven't had it easy in recent weeks. They have won six points from a possible 15 in the last five league games. Their 10-game unbeaten run came tumbling last time out as they lost 1-0 at home to Sunderland. Pierre Ekwah’s deciding goal came just two minutes after West Brom saw Brandon Thomas-Asante sent off. Missing the Ghanaian, who has 11 goals this season will surely be tough for West Brom but they have to find a way. While they’ve suffered just one defeat in 11 matches, West Brom haven't won a lot in that run to give them the confidence they need here. In those 11 matches, the Baggies have five wins. They come here having lost each of their last four matches against Leicester City. Their one and only win in 10 meetings with Leicester City was back in 2016. West Brom don’t have a great away run either, winning two of the last 10 away matches.
