Leicester vs Chelsea Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by James | in FA Cup Predictions
Two teams in the Premier League top four meet in the FA Cup quarter-finals this weekend when Leicester host Chelsea on Sunday. The Foxes have been one of the surprise stories of the campaign, looking for much of the season as if they would qualify for the Champions League. Sitting third in the table, that qualification is still likely but two draws since returning have turned up the heat on Brendan Rodgers' team. Chelsea are directly below Leicester in the table, fourth, only four points behind with a game in hand. The Blues got off to a good start in their first game of the restart, coming from behind to beat Aston Villa 2-1. They picked up arguably the most impressive scalp of the FA Cup tournament so far when they knocked out Liverpool in the fifth round with a 2-0 win. One of their emerging stars, Billy Gilmour, stole the show in that win and he may feature again versus Leicester. Chelsea have added depth to their squad by incorporating promising young players and further acquisitions are set to arrive before next season.
Leicester could use a few new additions for next season to cope with greater demands and greater ambitions. The hectic schedule of this condensed season could damage their current campaign as they lack depth and look rusty. Only a Kasper Schmeichel penalty save could keep the Foxes from falling to defeat against Brighton. Leicester are one of the stronger home sides in the Premier League but they have only managed to win two of their last six league matches at the King Power Stadium. They welcome a Chelsea side with the third-best away record in the top flight, unbeaten in five of their last six games on the road. Recent matches between these teams have been close encounters with four of the last six ending level. We see this potentially going the distance as well. Place a bet on this match finishing in a draw.
