Leicester City are coming from two straight losses, a run they will be keen to stop when hosting Blackburn Rovers in the fifth round of the FA Cup. Ahead of this game, Leicester lost 1-0 to Arsenal, putting a further dent to their season and they will be glad to take this cup assignment for now. Leicester had earlier lost 3-0 to Manchester United and in the Arsenal loss, they were lucky that Arsenal had two goals disallowed. The Foxes are just three points above the relegation region in the Premier League and perhaps the FA Cup can offer the needed lift. Blackburn will be the highest placed opponent they face in this season’s FA Cup. In the earlier two rounds, Leicester defeated Gillingham and Walsall 1-0 in both matches. On to this game, they have no clean sheet in the last four games and they’ve particularly been poor at home. Leicester have three losses in five home matches, and have failed to score in those three losses. In six home matches they have one win only.

Blackburn Rovers are coming from three straight wins and will want to feel they are the favorites in this game. Their 3-1 win away to QPR in their most recent game was a ninth unbeaten outing for Blackburn Rovers and in their winning momentum the confidence levels will be high here. Four clean sheets only in the last 10 matches will perhaps be their biggest concern coming into this game. Blackburn Rovers themselves have failed to score in just two of their last 10 matches. In the FA Cup this season, Blackburn have already eliminated two Championship sides and will feel capable of dealing with a Premier League side as well. In the last round they had to go through a replay with Birmingham City after a 2-2 draw in the first meeting and they won 1-0 in extra time. This time Blackburn will hope to do their business early, as they need players fresh enough for the promotion quest.
