Leicester vs Birmingham Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Steve Ashfield | in FA Cup Predictions
Leicester City start the heavy favourites to reach the last eight of the FA Cup. The Premier League side host Birmingham City who are 15th in the Championship. Leicester have already reached the semi-final of the EFL Cup this season and are third in the Premier League. The weekend saw them lose away at Norwich City making it five games without a victory. Three of those games were against Manchester City, Wolves and Chelsea, so it's not been the easiest of fixture lists. Leicester have beaten Wigan Athletic and Brentford to reach the fifth round, so this is a third straight game against Championship opposition. Only one of their last five home FA Cup ties have been lost and although changes will be made to their line-up, they should win this game.
Birmingham City are nine points behind the final promotion play-off place and ten points above the relegation zone. They are unbeaten in their last 13 league and cup games but the last four have all ended in draws. Their last win was away at Barnsley who are in the bottom three of the Championship. So far in the FA Cup this season, they have beaten Blackburn Rovers at home but struggled against League One Coventry City. They drew away and then needed a penalty shoot-out to win the fourth round tie. You have to go back to 2012 for the last time Birmingham City beat a league team away from home in the FA Cup. They have only won one of their last seven away FA Cup ties and that was against non-league Blyth Spartans. This will be a tough night for them, go for Leicester to win and be leading at both half and full time.

Our Leicester vs Birmingham Prediction
Leicester City aren't in the best of form at present but should still be in the Champions League next season. They will be disappointing at not making it to the EFL Cup final and will be out to win this FA Cup tie. Their opponents are on an unbeaten run but drawing too many games. It was a struggle for them to get past League One Coventry in the fourth round and this will be harder. Go for Leicester to win and be ahead at both half and full time.
