Leeds vs Southampton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

The bottom two sides in the Premier League are set to go head to head when Leeds United face Southampton in another relegation six-pointer on Saturday. The two teams are separated by one point; Southampton bottom with 18 points and Leeds 19th on 19 points. A win for Leeds coupled with favourable results elsewhere will see them, climb out of the relegation zone. It is the second game in a row that Leeds are facing off with a team in the relegation picture and they will be keen not to suffer another defeat. Leeds were beaten 1-0 by Everton last time out with the result allowing the Merseyside club to move to one point outside the relegation zone and Leeds will want the same for themselves on Saturday. Leeds haven’t won a match in the league since early November and have lost six of 10 matches played since then. They come to this match on the back of two successive losses. Leeds have struggled in both attack and defence with their last five league games seeing them concede six goals and score just two. The club appointed former Watford manager Javi Garcia as new head coach earlier in the week but work permit delays could see the Spaniard stay off Saturday’s match. Leeds have a considerable number of players out in the treatment room including Stuart Dallas, and Rodrigo who are both listed as out of this match. Rodrigo netted a brace as the two teams drew 2-2 at St. Mary’s Stadium earlier in the season.

Southampton produced a shock 1-0 win away to Chelsea last weekend to keep alive their survival hopes and they will want to build on that against Leeds. James Ward-Prowse scored a trademark freekick to secure the Saints’ fifth win of the season and they will look to him again to possibly provide the answers against Leeds. Before the Chelsea match, Southampton had lost five of their last six matches across all competitions. Though in the same predicament as Leeds, they have had considerable success in 2023 as they have won twice in the league. Interim head coach Ruben Selles could be without the services of Juan Larios Alex McCarthy as well as Valentino Livramento due to injury. Another possible danger man for Southampton for this match is Che Adams who has scored four times in the Premier League this season and is the club’s leading scorer with nine goals. He has however not scored in the last three matches.
