QPR travel to face Leeds in the Championship. Leeds United’s promotion this season was almost taken for granted. Even now the club sit third in the table and are heavily backed to join the Premier League party next summer. However, there have been warning signs that Leeds could fall just short again, and not even through a repeat of last term’s late-season wobble. The hosts have struggled for form of late and their inability to close out games could haunt them against QPR here. Leeds head into this weekend two points shy of the lead in the Championship, while they are aiming to take another victory against a QPR side who have thrilled at times in the new campaign. Meanwhile, Leeds have continued to be quite functional, failing to really capture the imagination despite their South American flair. A lack of goals has been the problem, with long-time QPR botherer Kemar Roofe departing last summer. The visitors have no shortage of goals this term, with their away form coming from some great attacking play. The hosts have found the net only five times in six home games, while they have converted just 5% of their shots at home so far. Their slip-ups this term have come from a failure to score enough goals and that could hold them back. Leeds have failed to win half of their home games so far, while all of their home victories have been by a 1-0 scoreline. With QPR hitting a goal in 79% of their league games, we can see them hurting this Leeds side. A goal for the visitors is likely to be a hammer blow to Leeds, as the last five clashes between these two sides at Elland Road have produced just eight goals in total. Given that form, we are backing QPR with a +1 Asian Handicap. With this bet, we get a return if QPR avoid defeat, while yet another single goal victory for Leeds gives us a refund.
