Leeds United will host Newcastle United as both sides look to rise from the lower reaches of the league standings. The home team goes to this game on 22 points in 15th place while Newcastle United have 12 points, in 19th place. This season, Leeds have struggled to meet last season’s highs and are just nine points above the relegation zone after playing 20 matches. Leeds are coming from a tough run but have shown good signs lately even as they struggle with a growing injury list. They beat West Ham United 3-2 in the last game with Jack Harrison the star as he scored a hat trick, to make it four goals in three matches. The issue with Leeds, apart from injuries, is that they haven’t been the cleanest in defence, and head to this game without a clean sheet in five matches. Both teams have scored in three of Leeds’ last five matches and four of their last five games have produced over 2.5 goals.

Newcastle United on the other hand, have no. win in their last six matches and in their 20 league matches, they’ve managed just one win, while conceding 43 goals in the process. Ahead of this game, the Magpies were close to claiming their second win of the season in the league but a late concession saw them draw 1-1 with Watford and they will be out to do it all over again here. Both teams have scored in three of Newcastle’s last five matches, and they’ve conceded two or more goals in five of their last 10 games. They’ve failed to score in just four of their last 10 matches and in the league this season, they are winless in the nine away matches played, losing six. The Magpies have made moves in the transfer market and after good debuts, Chris Wood and Kieran Trippier should be among the starters here.
