There have been many false dawns at Elland Road in recent years as they bid to make their return to the Premier League. At one stage last season they were top of the table but faded badly and again got rid of their manager. Now under new boss Marcelo Biesa, Leeds have made an unbeaten start to the season and again fans are daring to believe that they could get promoted this season. United have won four and drawn one of their five league games this season scoring 14 goals and conceding just four. They haven't had an easy fixture list either having had to face two of the teams relegated from the Premier League last season, beating Stoke City 3-1 at home and drawing 2-2 at Swansea City. Other games have seen them thrash Derby County 4-1 away, defeat Rotherham 2-0 at home and in their latest game beat Norwich City 3-0 at Carrow Road. The team are playing attractive football and even though it's still early days, another win here will have those fans dreaming of promotion.

Middlesbrough lost in the play-offs last season and have made a good start as they try this time to avoid that lottery and instead get automatic promotion. Like Leeds United they have four wins and a draw from their five league games but their goal difference is four less than that of United. They haven't been quite as impressive as Leeds and could easily come into this game with less points than they have. Their opening fixture at Millwall saw them 2-0 down with minutes to go before scoring twice to rescue a point. Their most recent game saw them get a 90th minute goal to beat West Brom 1-0 at home. Three of their five league games have been at home and of their last eight away matches in the Championship, they have only won two.  Leeds United have the class and home advantage here, so go for a home win in this match.
