Leeds United made a promising start to life back in the Premier League. However three recent losses have taken them down to 14th and they host Arsenal who are 11th. Older readers will remember the classic battles these teams had in the 1970s. Now they meet in the Premier League but both in the bottom half of the table. United have only four points from their last five league games with three defeats in the last four. Not just losses but the last two against Leicester City and Crystal Palace have seen them concede four times in each game. That’s four times in eight league games that United have conceded at least three goals. Home form began with a win over Fulham but since then they have earned just one point from three league games and lost the last two. It’s not all bad news for Leeds because they are still seven points clear of the relegation zone and only three points behind seventh place.

Arsenal are frustrating their fans with their inconsistency. Four league games have been won but the other four lost, not a draw in sight. In a high scoring league, the Gunners have only hit nine goals in eight matches. Eight of those goals came in their first four league matches and a return of just one in the five that have followed is a total disaster for the London club. That one goal did get them a 1-0 win at Manchester United but it also came from the penalty spot. Not since October 4, have they scored a league goal from open play. They are 11th and that’s four points behind the fourth place they need to get back into the Champions League. With three of the last four league games lost, Arsenal need to get back in form. Two of the last three away games in the Premier League have been lost. A bet on both teams to score is the one to go for here.
