Two sides that are still firmly in contention for Champions League qualification in the Serie A will clash when Lazio welcomes Roma to Stadio Olimpico on Sunday. Lazio is currently in third place in Serie A, with 49 points in 26 matches, just one point behind Inter Milan in second and 19 points behind the runaway leaders Napoli. The hosts played out a stalemate against Bologna in their last match, which extended their recent record to four games without defeat, including three wins and a draw. At home this season, Lazio has a record of seven wins, three draws, and three losses in the league, though their last home match did end in defeat against AZ in the Europa Conference League. Lazio will know that a loss in this one could see them drop to fifth in the league, which should spur them on to chase this match and the three points. 

Roma, meanwhile, is the first club outside the Champions League qualification spots, currently sitting in fifth place with 47 points in 26 matches, just one point behind AC Milan in fourth and five clear of Atalanta in sixth. Roma's last match saw seven goals scored, though they came out on the wrong side of the result, losing 4-3 to Sassuolo. That loss took their recent league record to three wins, one draw, and two losses in their last six matches. On the road this season, Roma has recorded six wins, four draws, and three losses in 13 matches, but they have been unable to win any of their last three, drawing one and losing two. Roma will be in good spirits coming into this match after beating Real Sociedad over two legs in the Europa League and will look to get their league performances back on track with a good result in this one.
