Lazio are sixth in Serie A but are only a point behind their opponents third placed Fiorentina. Their season began with a tough fixture list facing the top two from last season (and currently the top two this time around) and lost to both Juventus and Napoli. They bounced back from that poor start with four straight league wins and victory in the Europa League. Three of their league wins came against sides down the bottom of the table and their last two matches have both ended in defeat going down 3-1 at Roma and then 4-1 at Eintracht Frankfurt in their second Europa League fixture. Home form for Lazio has seen win two of the last five and their last five fixtures have all seen over 2.5 goals being scored.

Fiorentina start the weekend in third place, eight points behind league leaders Juventus but only a point ahead of Lazio. They won their first two league games of the season opening with a 6-1 hammering of Chievo who are rock bottom of the table. Following those two wins, Fiorentina only won one of their next four league games before getting back in winning ways with a 2-0 home win over Atalanta. Their away form is a worry with only one point from three league games and their last six away Serie A matches have only produced one victory. A difficult game to predict with Lazio being inconsistent, go for over 2.5 goals to be scored in the match.
