Lazio will be out to boost their knockout round qualifying chances when they host Celtic on Tuesday in the Champions League. The hosts are currently second in Group E after four rounds of play while Celtic are bottom. Lazio have accumulated seven points in this group and sit just one point behind leaders Atletico Madrid. They have won three times with one of those victories coming away to their soon-to-be visitors. Maurizio Sarri’s men are however coming off a shock defeat to Serie A strugglers Salernitana. The Eagles lost 2-1 on Friday to hand Salernitana their first league victory of the season. That loss was their second match without victory and followed up the 0-0 draw with city rivals Roma right before the international break. Lazio haven’t lost in seven matches as hosts and will therefore be confident of getting back to winning ways.

Celtic had won the first two meetings with Lazio before their matchday two encounter. They won 2-1 the last time they were at the Olimpico against Lazio. Brendan Rodgers’ men will hope for the same outcome on Tuesday as they seek their first win in this group. Celtic have lost three of their four fixtures in Group E and a fourth loss will confirm their elimination. The Bhoys have managed only one point and sit five more points behind third place. Tuesday’s visitors are coming off a 1-1 draw with Motherwell that maintained their unbeaten domestic league record. Celtic were thumped 6-0 away to Atletico Madrid in their last outing in this competition.
