Lazio vs Atalanta Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A

This is the first of two important games between these two clubs. The first is a Serie A fixture that will have great influence on who qualifies for either the Champions or Europa League next season. It's followed on May 15 with Atalanta facing Lazio in the Italian Cup final. Atalanta start the weekend in the fourth and final Champions League qualifying position. They've never played in Europe's top club competition and have a slender point lead over Roma. Atalanta are unbeaten in their last nine league games winning the last two, including an away win at second-placed Napoli. Their away form is impressive with three wins in the last four and six in the last eight. It will be severely tested in their final two away games as this match is followed by a trip to champions Juventus. 

Lazio are eighth in the table but only a point behind the final Europa League qualifying position and four adrift of Atalanta. They have been a bit inconsistent in recent weeks with two wins, a draw and three defeats in their last six league games. That includes a shock home loss to relegated Chievo and away defeats at SPAL and Milan. Lazio's last game was a 2-1 win at Sampdoria that kept them in the hunt for at least another season in the Europa League. Sampdoria have lost four of their last five league games though. Home form had seen them unbeaten in five league games before the disastrous loss to Chievo. A bet on over 2.5 goals is the suggested bet for this game.
