Konyaspor vs Galatasaray Prediction & Betting Tips - Super Lig

Konyaspor and Turkish champions Galatasaray had winning starts in the Super Lig and will be targeting three more points on Friday. The two face off with Konyaspor hosting their first meeting of the season. Follow on for our match preview and prediction.

The hosts finished just a point above the relegation zone last season and will be looking to do better this time. They flirted with defeat in their opening game, only to recover in the dying embers of their match against Kasimpasa last week.

Seemingly heading to a 2-1 defeat, Daniel Aleksic and Umut Nayir scored in the final nine minutes for a 3-2 win. That marked only their third win in 11 league matches. Last season they lost both matches against Galatasaray and come here as underdogs.

Galatasaray started their title defence in better fashion than their Super Cup outing. In a concerning performance, Galatasaray suffered a 5-0 defeat to Besiktas in the season’s curtain raiser.

However, they arrived for their league opener in better shape and beat Hatayspor 2-1. They needed two late goals for the win, having gone into the final 10 minutes trailing 1-0.

There are indications the team is struggling, judging from the opening two games. Okan Buruk will want to look at the positives though, his team having won 24 of the last 27 league matches. In that period, they only failed to score in two games, one of which ended in defeat.

Galatasaray are also on nine straight wins away from home in the league. That and the fact they have five wins in the last seven meetings with Konyaspor will really inspire them.
