Cologne will welcome Mainz on Sunday in a Bundesliga relegation battle. The two teams are separated by one point coming into this match with Cologne in 15th having the edge over 17th-placed Mainz. Cologne gave their survival hopes a huge shot in the arm last time out. Steffen Baumgart’s men earned a slim 1-0 victory over Darmstadt that saw them climb out of the bottom three. Goal difference though is keeping them safe and they are far from being out of the woods. Mainz had picked up five of their eight points in that three-game stretch before the loss to Freiburg. They will hope they can be able to get back to that form and pile more misery on their hosts.
