KKS Lech Poznan - Bodoe/Glimt: Form Analysis
After the first leg, Lech Poznan resumed their domestic duties over the weekend where they lost 2-1 to Zaglebie Lubin at home to drop even further from the title race. Their sixth loss in 21 matches in the league leaves John van den Brom’s men in third, 13 points adrift of top spot. Poznan are also out of the Cup and it now seems like their only chance at silverware this season is via the Conference League. The Polish outfit has resumed its season after the winter break by winning two and drawing three of the six matches played in the year across all competitions. They have not been lethal up front but have been menacing in defence where they have kept four clean sheets and have conceded just four goals. In the Conference League this season, they have played 13 matches from the start of the qualifying rounds for the group stage and despite finding it hard to win matches, have proved difficult to beat. They have won just five of those 13 matches with a further six ending in draws. They have drawn four of the last five matches in the competition and haven’t allowed more than one goal against them in a match and have kept three clean sheets. They will be hoping their resolute defence makes it hard for Bodo/Glimt.
Bodo/Glimt are yet to resume their domestic campaign after the winter break and their only competitive fixture was the first leg tie. The Norwegian side dropped from the Europa League after finishing third in Group A with four points gained from one win and a draw. They will be hoping to fare much better in this competition and have all to play for in the return leg. In the Europa League they managed just five goals in their six matches and conceded 10. They haven’t won this season away in Europe and come to this match having lost their last two road matches by conceding five goals and scoring just one in return.
