Group H of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying will see the top two sides Kazakhstan and Finland clash on matchday five. This game will be played on Thursday at the Astana Arena in Astana, Kazakhstan. The hosts are second in the table with nine points while the visitors are top with the same number of points but with a superior goal difference. Kazakhstan are already guaranteed a spot in the play-offs, via Nations League, even if they don’t finish in the top-two. Yet, they have remained in contention for the direct qualification spot with a good run of form. After starting the qualifiers with a 2-1 loss to Slovenia, the Kazakhs have done well to post impressive wins over Denmark, San Marino and Northern Ireland. These matches saw them aggregate seven goals while conceding just twice. That said, they will be worried about their home form that has been mixed at best. The win against Denmark in this campaign was just their third win across the last 11 home Euro qualifiers, losing the other eight.

Finland will be excited about that run, as they look to consolidate their top spot in the group. A win will help them do that and much like their hosts, the Finnish visitors have also rebounded after matchday one loss. After losing 3-1 to Denmark, Finland have responded with wins over Northern Ireland, Slovenia and San Marino. Impressively, all these were achieved with a clean sheet, while aggregating nine goals. However, the confidence will not be sky-high when looking at their away record. Finland have lost three of their last four away Euro qualifiers, with only the 1-0 win over Northern Ireland in March being the exception.
