Juventus vs Spal Prediction & Betting Tips - Coppa Italia
by Steve Ashfield | in Football Predictions
Juventus host SPAL in the quarter finals as they continue their bid to win the Italian Cup for a record 14th time. The home side are fourth in Serie A, while their opponents are fifth in Serie B. Juventus are still in with a shout of winning Serie A and at the weekend beat Bologna 2-0 to go to within seven points of leaders Milan with a game in hand. Now they turn to the Italian Cup, a tournament they haven't won since 2018. That was their fourth straight win in this competition after going 20 years without lifting it. This season, they have had to beat Genoa to reach this last eight match. They led 2-0 at home in that game, were pulled back to 2-2 and needed a goal in extra time to go through. Not since 2015 have they lost a home match in this competition. They come into this game having won each of their last five league and cup games.
SPAL were relegated from Serie A last season. They are currently in the play-off quarter final positions but only a point behind the second and final automatic promotion spot. The Serie B side ended last year with two defeats but have began this year with a four game unbeaten run. That included a shock win at Sassuolo in the last sixteen of this competition. Away form has only seen them win two of their last six played. Just three wins out of ten on their Serie B travels has held back their promotion challenge a bit. Shame that they didn't get a home tie as six out of nine have been won in Serie B this season. It's been a struggle to get to this quarter final. Before the win at Sassuolo, they had two penalty shoot out wins and a 2-0 home victory over Monza. This looks a step too far for them, go for a home win with Juventus ahead at both half and full time.
