Juventus vs Empoli Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A

Gameweek 22 in the Serie A will see Juventus look to continue their excellent run when they face Empoli on Saturday evening. These two have contrasting ambitions this season, as the hosts currently lead the league standings, while the visitors are second-bottom. With no European football at the Allianz Stadium this season, Juve look determined to challenge for the league title. They have taken 52 points from their first 21 games and moved into the lead in Serie A with a 3-0 win over Lecce last weekend, now one point ahead of Inter Milan. However, Inter’s involvement in the Super Cup means they did not play last week and have a game in hand on La Vecchia Signora. Still, Juve are in fine form, currently on a seven-match winning run in all competitions and unbeaten in their last 18 (W15 D3 L0). The last time they lost a match in any competition was on September 23, away to Sassuolo. Unsurprisingly, the hosts are the clear favourites in this one. 

Meanwhile, after finishing in mid-table last season, Empoli have experienced a major drop-off this term. They are currently on 16 points after 21 matches and three points from safety. Over their 21 games, Gli Azzurri have a record of four wins, four draws and 13 losses. However, one of those victories came last week when they pulled off a 3-0 win over Monza. That result followed back-to-back losses to AC Milan and Verona and also snapped up an eight-match winless run dating back to November 26.  Empoli’s major struggle this season has been their attacking output, as they have managed just 14 goals to date, which is the worst tally of any side in the top flight. The visitors have failed to win any of their last four away games and failed to score in two of the last three.
