Juventus vs AC Milan Prediction & Betting Tips - Coppa Italia
by James | in Football Predictions
Italian football is back with the Coppa Italia this weekend and there's been a hell of a gap between the first and second legs of this competition's semi-finals. Juventus, the most successful Italian club in this competition, went to AC Milan and played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg back in February. It was a fine showing for a Milan team that was reeling from a heavy 4-2 defeat in the derby with Inter. They regained pride thanks to Ante Rebic's goal and would have gotten victory if it hadn't been for a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty in stoppage time. While Juventus, currently top by a point, have been contesting for yet another Serie A title, this season has been another tough transitional one for Milan. The Rossoneri are seventh in the table and the Champions League places, 12 points away, are a distant dream. With all semi-finalists in the top seven, Milan look guaranteed to get a Europa League place at least.
Both Juventus and Milan had to defeat fellow Serie A teams to make it to this stage. Milan beat Torino 4-2 after extra-time in their quarter-final while Juventus swept Roma aside with a comfortable 3-1 win. Juventus are the best team in Italy at home, winning 13 of the 14 Serie A fixtures on their turf. Away from home, Milan have a patchy away record, failing to win seven of their 13 games on the road. If their away record wasn't enough cause for worry, Milan fans will furrow their brow looking at the head-to-head record with Juventus. Not since 2016 have Milan recorded a victory over Juventus, a run of 10 matches. Complaints have been raised by their fans in many of those games that Juventus regularly get decisions their way. In their last five encounters, Juventus have been awarded two penalties and Milan have had three players sent off. Back a penalty to be awarded.

Our Juventus vs AC Milan Prediction
Juventus have a habit of getting decisions in their clashes against Milan. It could be due to the quality of their players or it could be the referee being pressured by the crowd. Will the absence of a crowd change the usual pattern of officiating? We doubt it. Back a penalty to be awarded.
