Jordan - Korea Republic: Form Analysis
Both these sides were drawn into Group E during the group stages and faced off in their second match of the tournament. There was nothing to separate them that day as the match ended 2-2. Jordan were desperately unlucky that day as they were on the verge of victory, but an unfortunate own goal by Yazan Al Arab in stoppage time cost his side the three points. The Chivalrous Ones lost 1-0 to group winners Bahrain in their final group-stage match but made it through to the knockout rounds as one of the best third-placed teams in the competition. In the Round of 16, Jordan pulled off an incredible comeback, scoring two stoppage time goals to beat the heavily fancied Iraq 3-2 before holding off Tajikistan 1-0 to reach the final four. Of the final four teams left in the tournament, Jordan are the only side to have never won the Asian Cup.
Meanwhile, it has been an unexpected tournament for South Korea. While many had expected them to dominate most opponents, that’s not exactly how things have panned out. They kicked the competition off with a 3-1 win over Bahrain, but that was the only victory in regulation time they have managed so far. The Reds then played out a 2-2 draw against Jordan before they were shockingly held to a 3-3 draw by Malaysia in their final group-stage match. The draws continued in the knockout stages, as their Round of 16 clash against Saudi Arabia went to penalties after ending one apiece after extra time while the quarter-final also ended 1-1 in regulation time, but Son Heung-Min slotted home what was the eventual winner in the first period of extra time. Despite their topsy-turvy form, South Korea are now the bookmakers’ favourite to go on the this year’s Asian Cup.

Jordan & Korea Republic Squad Analysis
Hamza Al-Dardour will be back in contention for selection for Jordan after serving a suspension during the quarter-final win over Tajikistan for the red card he received in the Round of 16 against Iraq. Yazan Al-Naimat is anticipated to resume his role as the leading striker, having scored twice in the tournament so far, including a goal against South Korea in the group stage.
Jurgen Klinsmann is likely to be cautious about making too many changes for the South Korea match, given that his team had to play 120 minutes in both their knockout match wins over Saudi Arabia and Australia. Lee Jae-Sung may be considered as an option to come into the side, possibly replacing Cho Gue-sung. Wolves’ Hwang Hee-Chan's fitness will be evaluated after making his first start of the tournament in the previous match, while Son Heung-Min will once again be the talisman for the Reds in this crucial encounter.

Our Jordan vs Korea Republic Prediction
The dream is still alive for Jordan as they have defied the odds to reach the final four, and despite being huge underdogs here, they will head into the match with belief after holding The Reds to a 2-2 draw earlier in the competition. While South Korea have not been totally convincing, they have got the job done to reach the final four but will need to tighten up in defence or they could find themselves in another nervy end to this contest. We’re steering clear of the outright market here but expect both sides to find the net as they did in the previous meeting. Our Jordan vs South Korea prediction: Both teams to score.
