Japan vs Australia Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Sayak | in World Cup Predictions
Japan welcome Australia at the Saitama Stadium in Tokyo in the FIFA World Cup 2022 Asian qualifiers. The hosts are placed third in Group B with just three points from as many games while the visitors sit top of the Group in Round 3 of the qualifiers with nine points from their first three fixtures. Japan were dealt a shock defeat at home against Oman with a 1-0 scoreline before registering a slender away win over China with a 1-0 scoreline as well. However, the celebrations around the win over China did not last for long as they yet again succumbed to 1-0 defeat to Saudi Arabia on the road. Japan have struggled to score goals in the third round of games under head coach Hajime Moriyasu. They have netted just a single goal in their last three matches, thus just managing a single win out of three. Anything lesser than a win against Australia will jeopardise Japan’s hopes for direct qualification for the World Cup in Qatar.
Australia come into the game with a high-flying run of form. They have registered wins against China, Vietnam and Oman with 3-0, 1-0 and 3-1 score lines respectively and look well on course to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar with relative ease if they continue to maintain such great form. They are currently on an eleven match winning run and have kept six clean sheets in their last eight matches. Despite having a dismal record against Japan in Japan, Graham Arnold’s men have won ten out of their last eleven matches away from home.
