Mumbai will look to move to the top of the ISL standings with a win over Jamshedpur, which will also help avenge the loss last month. This match will be played at the JRD Tata Sports Complex Stadium in Jamshedpur on Friday. The hosts are seventh in the standings with 20 points from 18 matches, while the visitors are second with 35 points. Jamshedpur still has an outside chance of finishing in the top six  and thereby getting a chance to be in the playoff knockouts. They currently trail that last spot by just a point and would need a positive result here to reinforce their belief. They are coming off a heavy 3-0 loss to Mohun Bagan, which was their first defeat across six games. Having won three and drawn two of the previous five matches before that defeat, the home fans will hope there isn’t much to worry about.

Mumbai are already guaranteed a playoff spot, but they are targeting a move up the table as Odisha are level on points after playing a game extra. The visitors were beaten 3-2 in the reverse fixture in February, a surprise result considering they were 2-0 up until the 55th minute. Credit goes to them, though, as they picked up the pieces after that loss to win four and draw one of their next five matches. Three of those wins have come with a clean sheet, and that defensive nous could be crucial if they are to avenge the reverse fixture defeat. Mumbai’s chances are much better now than a few months ago, as they have won four of their last six away league games, losing just once.
