Jamshedpur and Hyderabad will face off in the final round of 16 clash in the AIFF Kalinga Super Cup on Thursday afternoon. The winner of this match between the Men of Steel and the Nizams will take on either NorthEast United or Mohammedan in the quarter-finals. Let’s get into the prediction. 

This marks the fifth season that Jamshedpur will feature in the Super Cup. They reached the semi-final in their last two campaigns and made it to the last eight in the two seasons prior. 

The Men of Steel defied the odds to beat NorthEast United in the Playoff round of the ISL, but came up short against Mohun Bagan in the semi-final, losing the tie 3-2 on aggregate.

Notably, though, while Jamshedpur finished in the top five, they conceded 43 goals this season, which was the second-most of any team in the division. 

Meanwhile, Hyderabad endured another rotten league campaign, finishing second-bottom in the standings, while only managing four wins and six draws in their 24 matches. 

They will be making their third appearance in the Super Cup this season, but they’ve not fared well in this competition, failing to get beyond the group stage in either of their previous campaigns. 

However, what will give the Nizams some hope here is that one of their four wins this season came against this opponent in a dramatic ending to their last match back in January.
