Jamaica W vs Australia W Prediction & Betting Tips - Womens World Cup
by Donal Kearns | in Womens World Cup Predictions
It’s been a bit of a miserable journey for Jamaica, who come into what will almost certainly be their last game of the tournament having lost two out of two. After two disappointing defeats, the Reggae Girlz will be looking to go out with their heads held high. In contrast, the Aussies, who came from two goals down to beat Brazil last time out, are fighting for a place in the next round, though to progress they’ll have to avoid giving themselves a mountain to climb. On the face of it, Jamaica have received two real pastings at this World Cup, though to be completely honest, that’s only half-true. Against Brazil, the defensive insecurities of the Reggae Girlz came into play, but they got themselves into numerous positions of promise going forward. Much of the same can be said about their defeat to Italy last time out; defensively, they struggled, there can be no denying that, but they once again offered a threat going forward. Against both Brazil and Italy, Jamaica could and probably should have scored at least once, so it wouldn’t be the greatest surprise if they finally found the net against an Australian back-line that has been anything but sturdy over the last week or so. It’s fair to say that the Aussies were unlucky on match-day one; they created considerably more than their opponents, though it must be said that they showed something a of a soft under-belly, which once again appeared to be the case against Brazil on match-day two. Despite eventually coming out on top, Ante Milicic’s side showed that when push comes to shove, they’ve got little defensive resistance in the locker. Given their overall standing in world football, the Aussies are naturally massive favourites ahead of this match, though given that they’ve not been overly impressive, their price-tag seems on the short side.

Our Jamaica W vs Australia W Prediction
One bet that does stand out as slightly over-priced is ‘Both Teams to Score’. The Aussies, who’ve averaged 1.86 expected goals for at this tournament, ought to have more than enough offensive quality to breach what has ultimately been a very weak Jamaican rear-guard, though the Reggae Girlz ought not to be discounted going forward. The pace and power of both Kadija Shaw and Mireya Grey caused problems for Italy last time out, so it’s easy to feel that they’ve got more of a chance of hurting a rather dodgy Aussie back-line than the current prices suggest.
