Italy vs Netherlands Prediction & Betting Tips - UEFA Nations League
by James | in UEFA Nations League Predictions
One of the most exciting matches of the week pits Italy against Holland in the Nations League. Taking place at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo, this Group 1 clash of League A occurs with the standings finely balanced after three games. Italy are top with five points, a win in Holland sandwiched between draws against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Poland. Holland are in third place, a further point behind with one win (over Poland), one draw (with Bosnia and Herzegovina) and the aforementioned defeat to Italy. Both clubs are coming off the back of bore draws, neither of which featured any goals. Neither country has been involved in a game that has featured more than one goal in this campaign. Holland are adapting to a change of coach with Frank de Boer having replaced Ronald Koeman, who departed for Barcelona over the summer. De Boer is still looking for his first victory after failing to win either of his first two games in charge. That uncertainty in the dugout is miles away from the situation in the Italy camp, the Azzurri enjoying an encouraging run of form since Roberto Mancini's appointment in 2018. The former Manchester City boss has only lost two of his 23 matches in charge. As Italy's 18-match unbeaten run implies, those defeats were early in his reign. One element of Italy's success that predates Mancini is their terrific home form. They have not been beaten on home soil in 22 matches, a run that started in 2016. Holland have picked up impressive results on the road in recent times, including a 4-2 in Germany in last season's Nations League campaign. However, they are winless in two on the road, one of which was against Northern Ireland, and have failed to win their last six matches against Italy. Back the hosts.Limited Offer. Our Italy vs Netherlands Prediction
The appointment of De Boer was scrutinised by sceptics underwhelmed by his recent managerial stints. Italy will be sure to capitalise on the transitionary period and pile more pressure on the Dutch. Back a home win.
