Italy were unlucky to lose to Germany on penalties in the quarter finals of Euro 2016. They'd looked a good side before that (you can excuse them the loss to Ireland when they played a weakened side), especially when beating Belgium in the group stages. Conte has departed for Chelsea so it's a new start for the Italian side. Giampiero Ventura who has been managing Torino for the past five years is the new man in charge. France really had a great chance of winning the European Championships on home soil. They hadn't really looked that spectacular on their way to the final but should have disposed of Portugal in the final particularly after Ronaldo went off injured. Italy tend to keep it tight and France certainly didn't score as many goals as you might have imagined they might in the summer. I think a bet on under 2.5 goals might be a good bet here but be careful as the managers are likely to be in experimental mode here.
