Istanbulspor host Besiktas in a crunch local derby, with both teams having their own reasons to be desperate for the three points. When it comes to the hosts, it is avoiding the threat of relegation early on in the campaign. Istanbulspor have won just one of their first five games and have failed to score in three of those. In addition, they won’t rejoice playing in front of their own fans as much as they should. Home advantage has been lost in recent games for Istanbulspor, who are winless in their last eight home games, winning just one in fourteen. 

Besiktas’ unbeaten run is over. In a tense game against fellow unbeaten side Basaksehir, it was the visitors who prevailed, inflicting defeat at Vodafone Park through a Bertrand Traore strike. Overall, the visitors have been a thrilling team to watch, mainly because they score and concede with ease. On the upside, Besiktas have been traditionally dominant over their Istanbul counterparts, being unbeaten when playing away to Istanbulspor and winning six of their previous eight meetings.
