Title-chasing Istanbul Basaksehir have a potentially tricky Super Lig tie on their hands this Sunday when they host Alanyaspor at the Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium. Basaksehir are second in the table, only being edged off the top spot thanks to the superior goal difference of league leaders Trabzonspor. They are unbeaten in their last seven matches, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw at Trabzonspor. Alanyaspor, meanwhile, could still conceivably sneak into the title race, only being ten points off the top from their current sixth-placed position. They travel to Istanbul in the hope that they turned a corner with their last result, a 1-0 win over Gaziantep. That victory brought an end to the poor streak they had been on, failing to win any of their previous five league matches.

Earlier in the season, these two teams met on Alanyaspor's patch and played out a goalless draw. While Alanyaspor have doled out heavy beatings on their own turf, this drab scoreline feels like the kind of low-scoring result they have been serving up of late. Five of their last six Super Lig matches featured fewer than three goals. In fact, there have been fewer than 3 goals scored in total in 75 per cent of Alanyaspor's away games in the Super Lig. Basaksehir are unlikely to succumb to a repeat of their blank stalemate from a few months back, having scored in all of their home games this season. They have scored at least two goals in nine of their last 11 home games. We wouldn't put the house on them scoring that many in this encounter. We can see it being settled by the odd goal.
