The Republic of Ireland took an early lead in Georgia on Saturday but ended up drawing 1-1. Group leaders Serbia had a comfortable win over Moldova to open up a two point lead. Later that evening Wales closed the gap on Ireland to two points with a win over Austria. Now the Irish host Serbia and can go top with a win but know a loss could see them drop out of the top two with Wales expected to win away in Moldova. Ireland have beaten Georgia at home in this group but their other two games saw them draw with Wales and Austria. A draw here will almost certainly see them fall behind Wales who they travel to in their final fixture. They have only lost one of their last seven home games. Serbia know a win in Dublin will take them five points clear of Ireland and greatly increase their chances of winning the group. They have won two of their three away group games and drew in Wales and are unbeaten in their last four away World Cup qualifiers. This should be a tense battle with so much at stake so go for under 2.5 goals in the game.
