Germany only managed four points from their first three qualifiers but since then they have won five games in a row scoring 19 and conceding just three.  Just a draw against Ireland will see them qualify for France next year and they are more than capable of doing that.  Germany have been scoring goals for fun in recent games and were highly impressive when recently beating Poland and Scotland.  Ireland have had an inconsistent campaign but start this game in third place. Their last two games though are against Germany and then away at second placed Poland. They'll be keeping an eye on how Scotland are doing against Poland who they lead by four points.  Ireland are unbeaten at home in this group with wins over Georgia and Gibraltar and draws against Poland and Scotland.  That home form is a threat to Germany but they have been looking in a different class to the other teams in this group in the second half of the campaign and an away win looks the most likely result here giving Ireland even more jitters over their play-off chances.
