Ipswich Town vs Wolves Prediction & Betting Tips - Carabao Cup
by Sridhar in Carabao Cup Predictions
With contrasting league forms behind them, Ipswich Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers are likely to play an entertaining match in the Carabao Cup. This third-round match in the competition will be played on Tuesday at the Portman Road Stadium in Ipswich. The hosts are flying high in the Championship with nine wins out of ten competitive matches this season. Seven of those wins have come in the league, with four of those coming in a row. That has given the Tractor Boys a scope to dream as they remain second in the Championship table. In the League Cup, they have started in the first round when they won 2-0 against third-division Bristol Rovers. Then they needed penalties to win against Reading after the game ended 2-2 at full-time.
Wolves are at the wrong end of the Premier League table staying 16th with four points. One of those came in a 1-1 draw against Luton Town last weekend, which they achieved with ten men. They started in the second round of this competition this season, winning comprehensively against Blackpool 5-0. What sets them apart is that they have suffered just one defeat to lower-league opposition since 2018. Interestingly, that was the last time they played Ipswich as Wolves have achieved promotion. They did so triumphantly with a pair of 1-0 wins over Ipswich, but this time around they might struggle to keep the goals down.
