The three-way title race in the Championship looks like going all the way to the wire with Ipswich hosting Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon in a crucial game at Portman Road. Ipswich have been exceptional at home this season, 15-5-1 on their own patch, a record that only Leeds can better in the Championship. They have had a disappointing week though, losing the East Anglian Derby 1-0 at Norwich on Saturday before a scoreless draw at home to Watford on Wednesday night. That was only the second time they failed to score at home this season, generally full of goals, 13 times netting three or more in those 21 games. Back-to-back blanks have not derailed their title bid as neither Leeds nor Leicester have produced the goods either.

Middlesbrough have identical 9-4-8 records at both home and away, but it has been on the road that their games have been full of goals. Only Rotherham have had more goals in their away games and that is purely down to the fact that they have conceded 58! They came from behind away at both Southampton and Hull the last two times that they have played on the road to pick up a point. They lost at Stoke in early March, which was disappointing, but they have been unbeaten in eight games since. They are six points off the playoffs with only 12 points on offer in their four remaining matches so they will probably have to win out to have any hope of the playoffs.
