Ipswich Town vs Leicester Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

The marquee match on Boxing Day in the Championship will see Ipswich Town taking on Leicester City at Portman Road. The hosts are currently second in the league standings, while the visitors lead the way. It’s almost hard to believe that Ipswich were only promoted back to the Championship this season. They have been incredible this term and have looked like the only side capable of challenging The Foxes for the title. After 23 games, The Tractor Boys have managed 52 points with a record of 16 wins, four draws and three losses. However, they did see their lead over Leeds in third place cut to seven points when they were beaten by The Whites last weekend. That snapped up a run of five matches unbeaten, including four wins and a draw. Ipswich are unbeaten in their last nine home matches and have only been defeated once at Portman Road this term. Despite their good work, the hosts are the underdogs in this one. 

Meanwhile, Leicester City look well on their way to securing promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. They have posted 58 points in 23 matches and have a six-point buffer over their opponents in second place in the league standings. The Foxes claimed their 19th league win of the season last weekend when they overcame Rotherham United at home. That result also marked their fifth league win in succession and was their seventh match unbeaten. The last time Leicester lost a league game was before the November international break against Middlesbrough.  The visitors have taken 28 points from a possible 33 on the road this season and come into this one unbeaten in their last three, including two wins and a draw.
