Inter Milan are third in Serie A but a poor run of form has seen them fall nine points behind the league leaders. They need to get back into winning ways and host Sampdoria who are 16th in the table and only a point above the relegation zone. Inter had topped Serie A earlier in the season and were fighting it out with Juventus. However, a run of just two wins in seven league games has dented their title hopes. They might not even get second place as they trail Lazio by eight points, though they do have a game in hand. Qualification for the Champions League is looking good though with a nine-point lead over fifth place. Inter have lost their last two league games, being beaten by the top two sides. They have played since Italian football resumed, drawing 1-1 with Napoli in the Italian Cup semi-final, going down 2-1 on aggregate. Home league form is good with seven wins out of 12 and just one loss to Juventus in October. Since that loss, Inter have gone eight home league games unbeaten but there have been four costly draws. The reverse fixture against Sampdoria took place in September with Inter winning 3-1. Four of their last five home Serie A fixtures against Sampdoria have been won.

The away side need points to keep their Serie A status. They are only a point ahead of the bottom three but that's better than it was. Two of their last three league games have been won taking them out of the relegation zone. Wins came at Torino and home to Verona. Their defending still needs some improvement though with 11 goals conceded in their last four league fixures. They have only won three away league games this season with seven defeats. Just 12 goals have been scored on the road and each of their away losses has seen them concede at least twice. Go for Inter to get the win here.
