Inter Milan’s start to the month of February wasn’t the best, and they are on to a few tough matches ahead, starting with a home game against AS Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter finals. Inter are coming from a 2-1 defeat at the hands of bitter rivals, AC Milan and will be eyeing a response here. There are lessons to take from the Milan game, especially in defence, having surrendered a 1-0 lead, and to concede twice in three minutes deep in the second half. That result meant Inter have just one clean sheet in five matches, and two times in that run, they have conceded twice. Both teams have scored in four of Inter’s last five matches and the four matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Inter have scored two or more in three of their five matches, and failed to score in just one.
AS Roma also had a winless outing in their last game, though theirs was just a draw; 0-0 with Genoa. They lost 3-0 to Inter in their league meeting and will be keen to avoid another defeat here. They haven’t beaten Inter in their last nine meetings but six of those nine matches ended in draws. A key highlight in these matches has been their high scoring nature; in the nine meetings, six have produced over 2.5 goals.
