Second placed Inter, with 75 points, hosts Empoli who are 14th with 37 points. Inter are two points behind league leaders, AC Milan and after beating Udinese 2-1. It was the fourth time in five matches that they scored two or more goals and each of their last five matches has produced over 2.5 goals. Inter have one clean sheet in five matches; it has been a bit shaky defensively for them going into these late stages of the season. They are unbeaten in five straight home games though, winning four and drawing one. In four of those five home matches, Inter have scored two or more goals.

Empoli failed to build on their win over Napoli; they are coming to this game from a 3-1 loss at home to Torino. In their last five matches they’ve managed one win only but each of their last three matches have produced over 2.5 goals. Empoli have conceded two or more goals in each of their last three matches and they have one clean sheet in the last five matches. Twice in the last five matches, they’ve failed to score, and in that run of five games, they’ve managed to score more than a goal in just one of the five matches.
