Inter Milan vs AC Milan Prediction & Betting Tips - Serie A
by Daniel Ngulu | in Serie A Predictions
Internazionale will host AC Milan in the Derby della Madonnina this weekend at the San Siro and for all the prospects this match carries, a lot of talk will be on the absent players due to Covid-19. Both sides have started the season well but Milan have been the better. Inter have dropped points once, in a draw with Lazio to leave them in fifth place with seven points while Milan have won all their three matches and are second, due to goal difference. Inter had an ill-tempered match against Lazio last time out, letting go of a 1-0 lead to draw 1-1 in the end in a match that had a player sent off for each side. For Inter, Stefano Sensi will be out of the Milan game after his 86th minute red card in the game. Inter will also miss the services of Alessandro Bastoni, Roberto Gagliardini, Milan Skriniar, Radja Nainggolan, Ionut Andrei Radu and Ashley Young who tested positive for Covid-19. They will be happy though to have their top players including Lautaro Martinez, who has scored in each of their matches this season and Romelu Lukaku, who is also in fine form. Inter have no clean sheet so far this season, and this is one factor that will bother the manager, especially with a number of players absent and most first teamers having featured for their nations on international duty. Inter had 16 players away on international duty, three of them having travelled to South America. While Inter have scored in all their three matches so far, having conceded six goals will be a major concern for Antonio Conte, but with just one loss in 16 home matches in Serie A, he has a string to clutch on. Inter have also gone unbeaten in their last five matches against Milan, winning each of the last four. In their most recent meeting, Inter rose from two goals down in the first half to win 4-2 in dramatic fashion.
Milan heads to this game clearly remembering their 4-2 loss to Inter in the last meeting. They will be hoping to avoid the second half collapse they had in February and many factors will favour them going to this clash. Milan have the right form going to this game; they have the best defence thus far, having conceded no goal in their opening three league matches. They have scored at least two in each of the games and even in their three Europa League matches, they have scored two or more. The only time they seemed to be on the back foot this season was against Rio Ave in the Europa League, as they needed a late penalty from Hakan Calhanoglu to level the game and win on post-match penalties. They recovered well from that with a 3-0 win over Spezia in their most recent Serie A match, all goals coming in the second half as Milan once again returned from the break stronger. They have scored seven goals in Serie A this season and five of these have come in the second half. One other advantage they will have going to this game, only two of his players - Leo Duarte and Matteo Gabbia are set to miss the game after testing positive for Covid-19. Also, Milan had lesser players on international duty – 14, and most did not have long trips out of Italy. While they are playing away from home on paper, in reality, this is a venue Milan are used to, still, they have an impressive away form – unbeaten in eight in the league, with five wins. Their last loss away from home was at this same venue, to Inter in February. They have scored in each of their last 11 away league games, eight times in the last nine they have scored twice or more.

Our Inter Milan vs AC Milan Prediction
AC Milan have had a flying start to the season and it has been even better in Serie A. For them, this is the best time to face Inter, a team they haven’t beaten in five straight meetings. Inter have had a leaky defence so far and have a lot of absentees, due to Covid-19 and suspension, also most of their players were away for international duty and in far-flung areas. Milan have lesser players absent and have had a good balance in attack and defence so far in the season. They have scored at least twice in their six matches so far and kept clean sheets in each of their league games. However, facing Inter, a team with some of the best strikers in Italy at the moment will call for much more, and we don’t feel they will keep another clean sheet here. With Milan’s scoring form though, we can bet they will outscore Inter and we will go with a win for the away team here.
