Inter Milan will hope to consolidate their hold at the top of Serie A table when they face a tricky home game against Bologna. This match at San Siro on Saturday will see the hosts top of the table with only goal difference separating them from AC Milan, while the visitors are 8th with ten points and four behind top-five spots. Inter are coming off a 1-0 win over Benfica in the Champions League, their first win of the competition this season. That followed a 4-0 win over Salernitana last weekend, with the twin wins an apt response to the 2-1 loss to Sassuolo earlier in September. Their lead at the top of the table is now limited to just goal difference against bitter rivals AC Milan, which means they can’t take this game lightly. Thankfully, their home form has been impressive with four wins out of five competitive fixtures here this season.

Bologna are coming off a 3-0 win over Empoli which doubled their goals tally for the season! That is not so impressive, as they have scored only three goals in six matches prior. What’s impressive though, is their defensive shift, as Bologna have conceded only four goals in the league so far. This is better than all sides bar Inter Milan, which has the best defensive record of the league with only three goals conceded. Their away form doesn’t indicate much as Bologna have drawn all three away Serie A matches this season, including consecutive goalless draws.
