Argentina will conclude their Asia tour on Monday when they play away to Indonesia in an international friendly match. Indonesia have been using the current international window to help prepare for next year’s Asia Cup. They drew 0-0 with Palestine last Wednesday at home and have now played to a share of the spoils in their last two fixtures. Last March, they hosted Burundi for two test matches and won one and drew the other. The Merah Putih have been in good form recently and come to this match having lost just one of their last 12 fixtures. Seven of those matches have ended in victory with three of those wins coming in friendly matches. Tim Garuda will be expected to put up a decent account of themselves by the more than 80,000 spectators expected for this match.

World champions Argentina have also been playing test matches since their triumph in Qatar at the end of last year. This will be their fourth friendly match and the second in Asia. The Albiceleste are using these friendly matches to help prepare for the start of the CONMEBOL 2026 World Cup qualification process in September. Lionel Scaloni’s charges have won all three friendlies which has extended their winning streak to nine matches. Since losing their opening group match in Qatar to Saudi Arabia, Argentina have been on a tear. They beat Australia 2-0 on Thursday in Beijing with Lionel Messi and German Pezzella providing the goals.
