Iceland vs Belgium Prediction & Betting Tips - UEFA Nations League
by Steve Ashfield | in UEFA Nations League Predictions
The past few years have seen Iceland achieve things they could only dream of in the past. They qualified for both the European Championships and the 2018 World Cup but now those dreams are turning into nightmares. They failed to get out of their group in Russia despite holding Argentina to a 1-1 draw in their opener. Any hopes of a successful European Nations League campaign look to have disappeared already after losing their opening game 6-0 away to Switzerland. Now it's their second and first home match and they have to take on the freescoring Belgium. Iceland have gone 10 official games without a win (they won two non-FIFA games in Indonesia) since they clinched World Cup qualification last year. Iceland have lost three of their last four home matches and conceded at least twice in all of them. Their last eight internationals have seen them concede 22 goals and that's not a statistic you need when facing Belgium.
In their last 27 internationals, Belgium have only been beaten on one occasion and that was the World Cup semi-final defeat by France. They finished third in the World Cup and last week beat Scotland 4-0 away in an international friendly. That's 27 goals in their last ten internationals and if Iceland defend like they did against Switzerland then Belgium will have few problems getting their European Nations League campaign off to a good start and leaving Iceland in desperate relegation trouble. Go for Belgium to be win and be ahead at both half and full time.

Our Iceland vs Belgium Prediction
Iceland's form seems to have deserted them and they haven't won a FIFA recognized match since clinching World Cup qualification last year. Saturday saw them get thrashed 6-0 by Switzerland in their opening European Nations League game and relegation to League B is looking very likely. Belgium are in top form and beat Scotland 4-0, they have won all nine previous games against Iceland and the tip here is for them to win their tenth and be leading at both half and full time.
