Iceland plays host to Albania at the Laugardalsvöllur in this match in the United Nations League B. The home team had a good start to their campaign as they drew 2-2 away to Israel in their opening match. Iceland will have a golden opportunity to win this group as there are only three teams due to Russia’s expulsion. They have been struggling recently and are without a win in their last seven matches across all competitions. Iceland did however win their last home match as they beat Liechtenstein 4-0 but strangely their last home match was back in October 2021. They had a very disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign as they finished in fifth place in their group, winning just two of their 10 matches. Iceland have only one win in their last 13 matches across all competitions.

Albania play their first match of the competition as their opening round match was cancelled due to Russia being expelled. This will mark their debut in League B after they gained promotion from League C. They had an excellent four match unbeaten streak to end the group stage of League C last season to seal their promotion. Albania have struggled to maintain their form recently with just win from their last five matches. They will need to show a marked improvement otherwise their stay in League B could be very short. Albania have also been very poor away from home and have lost four of their five matches with just win.
