Hungary vs Ireland Prediction & Betting Tips - International Friendlies
by Daniel Ngulu | in Football Predictions
Hungary are in a tough group at the Euro 2020 and need to get the most out of their pre-tournament preparations. They have a final warm up game against Ireland on Tuesday before kicking off their Euro campaign with a game against Portugal. Hungary go to this game on the back of a very strong run; they beat Cyprus 1-0 on Friday in another friendly match, making it 10 matches unbeaten. It was their third straight win but the first time in five matches that they failed to score more than a goal. Three of their last four matches have produced over 2.5 goals and in the last 10, they have five clean sheets. Hungary play this game at home, in Budapest; they haven’t lost in their last five home matches and in their last 14 games at home, they’ve suffered just three defeats. They have won nine of the 14 and scored in each of the 14 matches.
Ireland will not be taking part in the Euros after they were beaten by Slovakia in the playoffs. They’ll thus be using this game to prepare for the coming 2022 World Cup qualification matches in September. Ireland haven’t had a very good run in recent matches though they go to this game on the back of a 4-1 away win in Andorra. That was their first win in 13 matches and they’ve failed to score in eight of the 13. Away from home, they have no clean sheet in the last six matches, and won just one while losing four of the six. Republic of Ireland have two wins in their last seven meetings with Hungary, while the Hungarians have managed three wins. However, the last time these two nations faced off was in 2012 in a friendly match that ended 0-0. Everton defender Seamus Coleman will not be available for this game as he recovers from a thigh issue.

Our Hungary vs Ireland Prediction
Hungary are going to the Euros and want to wrap up their friendly matches on a high. They have good form favoring them against an Ireland side that’s really struggling. Ireland are hoping to make it two straight wins under Stephen Kenny but it is hard ignoring the quality Hungary carry, as seen in their last 10 matches. Back Hungary to win.
